Been here for officially 1 week and 1 day. I feel like I have been here forever…so crazy! So trying to recap in a short amount of space…
This past weekend we took a trip into Limerick and a small city called Adare with the UL international society. It was kind of pointless but wasted time. At delicious Leek soup in Adare and did some shopping in Limerick. We also (as seen above) went to King John’s Castle in Limerick…it was a very foggy morning though so not much could be seen! I then purchased a phone here. yay. Although I only communicate with like 2 people on it…
Sunday we spend shopping and then our other house mates downstairs moved in. We met 1 of them and then the other 3 later in the week. They are nice but not very cleanly with the kitchen :/ Oh well. That night we went to this place called the “Lodge”. It is a sort of night club in Limerick where all the students go. It was fun…they play mostly American music so it was kind of like being at home. Went to bed very late…not good for my sleeping schedule!
Monday was the first day of class. Had 2 lectures…one was a psychology lecture and the other was a geography class (which there is no way i continued to take). The geography lecture made no sense and the professor was old and it was not my style. Now I am taking a sport psychology class, a irish dance class, a folklore class, an accounting class, and deciding between a sociology and a marketing class…we will have to see. At night Kayla and I went to check out the UL volleyball club. It is expensive to register so we are just going to play on Monday nights…actually it was pretty intense…we did drills and sprints and everything! It was like the high school days. Good work out though!
Tuesday was relaxing… just had classes…etc. Then at night we went out to this place walled the Icon. I guess it is another dance club in Limerick. It was crazy busy downtown with students. The club was fun and crowded. Met a lot of nice people! Went to bed sort of late again…lack of sleep! AHHH.
I find it so crazy that students go out during the week here. It boggles my mind. I clearly will not be partaking in all of this activity! I don’t think I can handle that every week!
That brings me to today…wednesday…I woke up for my 9am accounting lecture. sooo early. came back and napped…then headed off to Aldi for groceries (food is expensive here! well everything is actually expensive) I also signed up for 2 trips around Ireland this semester! One into the west and another to Dublin on St.patrick’s day! how fun! I had to wait for like 1 hour and and 1/2 so sign up though. ANNOYING. Now i am bored…sitting here chowing down on this delicious cereal that is basically little squares filled with nutella. YUM.
Don’t know what I am going to do tonight..probably sleep. How exciting.
